Betty Jean Parrott

Betty Jean Parrott, age 89, passed away June 19, 2025.  

Betty was born on April 15, 1936, was raised in Meadow by her parents Arthur and Gertrude Preszler. Betty graduated from Bison High School.  Betty worked in Lemmon where she met her husband Vinal R. Parrott, Jr and was married on October 13, 1957.  They lived on the Parrott Ranch by Athboy.  They had 2 children, Cindy and Wade.  

Betty and Vinal loved the ranch through the good and bad times.  Vinal passed away in 1977, Betty remained on the ranch and bought the Country Kitten Gift Store in Lemmon. She loved her store but not the long drive every day.  

In 2002 she moved to Rapid City and bought a home.  Betty had many friends, loved to travel, especially to beaches (pick-up seashells), dine out and play cards. But most of all Betty loved family and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Betty is survived by her children Cindy Larson (David), Rapid City, Wade Parrott (Mary). Cottage Grove MN, Grandchildren: Lauren Larson, Zachary Parrott (Allison), Jordan (Jill). Great Grandchildren, Mirabella Parrott, Finnegan Parrott and Baylor Parrott and 6 very special grand dogs. Betty will be missed by all of us.

Services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, July 1, 2025, at 11:00AM. Burial on July 2, 2025 Greenhill Cemetery, in Lemmon, SD at 2:00pm.
