St. Patrick’s Father Hoag

Wall’s St Patrick’s Church welcomes Father Tim Hoag.
Hoag graduated from Philip High School in 1985 and then attended Black Hills State University. He then attended  Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minn. from January of 1987 to 1991 and received a bachelors degree in philosophy.  He went on to attend the Pontifical College of Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, and received a masters of divinity.
Hoag was ordained in 1995 and served at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral in Rapid City. He spent four years as a chaplain for the Catholic school system there. He then spent four years serving at Christ the King Church in Presho,  St. Anthony church in Draper and St. Martin’s in Murdo, while also serving as director of vocations recruiting for candidates for the priesthood. 
Hoag then served at St. Joseph church in Spearfish, St. Paul’s in Belle Fourche and at Black Hills State University’s Newman Center for 10 years. He then went on sabbatical for four months in Rome, Italy, and spent three weeks in Israel. After his sabbatical, he served as administrator for St. James in Edgemont,  St. Anthony’s in Hot Springs and St. John the Baptist Church in Custer. 
Hoag pursued further education at St. Paul’s University in Ottawa, Ontario, where he studied canon law which is the study of the law’s governing the Catholic church's internal structure. Upon graduation he received a masters of arts and a pontifical license in canon law. 
Now, as Hoag serves in Wall, he spends two days a week at the diocesan tribunal, working along with Fr. Leo Hausmen, he serves as a judge and auditor in adjudicating marriage nullity cases. Hoag is currently serving as the parish administrator for the churches of St. Patrick's in Wall St. Margaret's in Lakeside and Holy Rosary in Interior.
Hausmen served as pastor for  10 years in Wall before Fr. Johnston Kuriappilly.
